FunkFriday is an instrumental jazz-funk, blues, and R&B collective led by St. Paul Peterson, bringing together world-class musicians to explore groove-driven, improvisational music at the highest level.
What began as a weekly creative project has grown into an expansive musical community. Through Peterson’s FunkFriday series, which released a new performance every Friday for five consecutive years, more than 300 musicianscollaborated on over 250 pieces of music, creating a deep catalog of smart, soulful instrumental music rooted in the traditions of jazz, funk, and modern R&B.
Musicians appearing in FunkFriday represent an extraordinary range of legendary artists, including Kenny Loggins, Earth, Wind & Fire, Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson, Prince, George Benson, David Sanborn, Tower of Power, Daryl Hall, Jeff Lorber, and many more.
At its core, FunkFriday is about musical conversation—a band built to play deep grooves, take chances, and create heady, improvisational music that keeps audiences locked in from the first note to the last.

DJ & FUNK is a high-energy live music experience that blends world-class musicianship with the nonstop flow of a professional DJ. Led by St. Paul Peterson (The Time, The Family, Kenny Loggins, Steve Miller Band), the group fuses instrumental funk, jazz, blues, and R&B with modern DJ energy to create a seamless soundtrack for unforgettable events.
The concept grew out of Peterson’s acclaimed FunkFriday series, which released a new performance every Friday for five consecutive years and brought together more than 300 musicians across 250 pieces of music. That deep musical network now fuels DJ & FUNK’s dynamic performances, where live improvisation meets dance-floor grooves.
